Just-The-Ticket

Here is an effective networking tool to help you gather information about potential employers or clients.

  I modified this idea from my wife, Shari, who is a Mary Kay Cosmetic Consultant.  I look forward to keeping you posted on how the idea works for a job search and for drumming up forensic consultant business.

 Whether you like the produShariKay Business Card - 330-207-2503ct or not, Mary Kay Cosmetics has one of the most successful marketing and sales programs ever created.  The concept of JUST-THE-TICKET pays tribute to the phenomenal success experience by Mary Kay Consultants that usethe Two-Sided business card template provided by Mary Kay.

     JUST-THE-TICKET cards are printed on Staples brand "printable ticket" inkjet card stock that I purchased from Staples for about $22 US Tear at 2" for Chit and Stubfor 400 tickets.  Each 5.5" printable ticket is sequentially numbered and tearable at a 2" perforation.  On the larger part of the ticket (the "chit") have your new contact to fill out information you both can use in your quests.  The smaller part (the "stub") is what you leave with your new contact.

     With the sequential number on both the "stub" and the "chit", you have an opportunity to link your new contact to your website in an elegant manner that circumvents the tedium of your new acquaintance keying in all the preliminary data.  As a good friend and fellow entreprenuer, you will key in the data ahead of time.  Once you have setup the new contact profile on your website, send them an email and invite them to browse your site, click on links, download your resume, follow you on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ and whatever other social media you find valuable.

     The images below show how I have my JUST-THE-TICKET laid out.  You can click here to download a WORD2007 Template in which you only need to insert your name and other specifics.  It's already formatted for the "printable ticket" format of the STAPLES brand tickets.  Make sure to specify 2-Sided printing on your printer and specify only print pages 1 and 2 (If someone can help me figure out how to get rid of the extra page, I'd welcome some feedback.)

      Let me know if you make some modifications to the information you gather and also if you have some success.

SIDE ONE        SIDE TWO

<=== CHIT ===>

One side presents the information about you/me and the other side gathers information about the prospect (be they potential employer or client).
